Marquette enters its fourth season under coach Steve Wojciechowski and is coming off its first NCAA tournament appearance since the squad's run to the Elite Eight in 2012-13. The Golden Eagles return seven letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad, including a pair of all-conference performers to go along with several players who have seen extensive action during their respective careers.
 
Marquette will feature one of the nation's top returning backcourts in 2017-18, with sophomore Markus Howard and senior Andrew Rowsey back after earning all-conference accolades last season. Howard, who was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team, led the team in scoring (13.2 ppg) and topped the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.547) in his freshman season.
 
Rowsey, the lone senior on this year's roster, earned the Big East Sixth Man Award after finishing among the league leaders in 3-point shooting, while connecting on 92.6 percent of his free throws, which was fourth best in the nation.
 
The Golden Eagles open the Maui Jim Maui Invitational against VCU in the first game of the Tournament on Nov. 20. ESPN2 will televise the contest, which is set for 1:30 p.m. CT.
