Chaminade Schedule
This year could be considered by many to be a rebuilding year for Chamiande, having lost seven letterwinners, including four of their five top scorers from a year ago, accounting for 68 percent of the team's points. Point guard Austin Pope (12.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game) is the only starter back, although several veteran reserves including Dantley Walker, Justin Bridges, Nate Pollard and Tyler Cartaino are also back.
But Silverswords head coach Eric Bovaird has what very well may be his best-ever recruiting class that can contend immediately. Division I transfers Braden Koelliker (Colorado State) and Grant Dressler (Sacramento State) join junior college transfers Nick Anderson, Kane Keil, Brett Reed and Erik Scheive as newcomers.
This year's squad is also a dramatic departure from previous guard-oriented squads. This year's Silverswords feature a front-court laden group with seven players standing over 6-foot-7.
Chaminade will take on Notre Dame at 9 p.m. ET (4 p.m. HT) in its opening game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational on Nov. 20. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
