For the fifth straight year, ESPN will include a trip to the 2019
Maui Jim Maui Invitational as part of the grand prize of the network's annual Tournament Challenge.
In order to be eligible to win, fans must submit their bracket via the
ESPN Tournament Challenge. At the conclusion of the Tournament, all entries finishing in the top one percent will be entered into a random drawing, and one lucky fan will receive roundtrip economy airfare for two to Maui, hotel accommodations for five nights and a pair of tickets to each of the 12 games at the famed Lahaina Civic Center for the 2019 Maui Jim Maui Invitational.
This year's NCAA Tournament features seven teams from the 2018 and 2019 fields, once again proving the caliber of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational and its indication for postseason success. Two headliners of this year's March Madness are the No. 1 seeds in the East and West, Duke and Gonzaga respectively, who faced off against each other for the Maui Invitational title in November 2018. Kansas and Virginia Tech, both four-seeds in this year's NCAA Tournament, will return to Maui in 2019.
The longest active NCAA Tournament appearance streaks also belong to 2018 and 2019 Maui Jim Maui Invitational teams, including Kansas with 30, Duke with 24, Michigan State with 22, and Gonzaga with 21.
Additionally, four teams from the most recent and upcoming Maui Jim Maui Invitational fields were crowned champions of their respective conference tournaments this past week: Duke of the ACC, Auburn of the SEC, Iowa State of the Big 12, and Michigan State of the Big Ten.
ESPN's Tournament Challenge is free for players to submit up to 25 entries. Last year, the challenge saw a record-breaking five million brackets submitted in a single day, and the second-highest number of entrants ever, with 17.3 million brackets submitted.
