2025 Field Update Announcement

Boise State Joins 2025 Maui Invitational Tournament Field

MAUI, Hawaii, Feb. 20, 2025 – The Maui Invitational announced today that the Boise State Broncos will join the highly competitive 2025 field. To be played at the historic Lahaina Civic Center Nov. 24-26, 2025, the 42nd annual tournament will feature eight premier college basketball programs. Boise State joins a talented field that features Arizona State, North Carolina State, Seton Hall, Texas, USC, Washington State, and host Chaminade.

Led by Head Coach Leon Rice in his 15th season at the helm, Boise State joins the 2025 Maui Invitational field after three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2022-2024), including Mountain West regular season and conference tournament titles in 2022. In his 15 seasons, Coach Rice has led his team to more than 20 wins in 11 of those seasons.

This marks Boise State's first appearance in the historic Maui Invitational.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Rice and his Boise State Broncos to the 2025 Maui Invitational and look forward to them experiencing the Maui Magic in person," said KemperSports LIVE Executive Vice President and Managing Director Tom Valdiserri. "The Broncos are a program on the rise, having made the NCAA Tournament three consecutive years."

About the Maui Invitational
In December 1982, then No. 1 ranked Virginia, led by National College Player of the Year Ralph Sampson, played little-known NAIA Chaminade University in Honolulu while on the way back from a trip to Tokyo. The Silverswords stunned Virginia 77-72 in one of the greatest upsets in college basketball history. Two years later, in 1984, Chaminade University hosted the first Maui Invitational and it has proven to be the premier early-season college basketball tournament for 40 years running. Each year, the Maui Invitational attracts the top programs, best-known coaches and most outstanding players to compete in an exciting atmosphere at the Lahaina Civic Center near the beautiful beaches of Maui
