The Fighting Illini had three starters tally more than 15 points each, but that was still no match for the Musketeers. Xavier's entire team, save for one player, had points on the board, pulling them past Illinois to secure the Game 11 win. 

Illinois' strong shooting from the free-throw line early in the game helped them edge out a five-point lead, but Xavier was quick to come back. The team shot 68 percent from the field in the first half, and clutched their biggest lead of the game in the second half at 16 points ahead.

Xavier placed seventh in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational.
