2014-15 CSUN Roster

In Reggie Theus' first season as head basketball coach at CSUN in 2013-14, the Matadors reached the finals of the Big West Tournament.

The momentum of last season's exciting year has carried over to the 2014-15 campaign. The Matadors return a sizable portion of their scoring and rebounding arsenal, along with the influx of eight talented freshmen that rank among the top 50 recruiting classes in the nation, according to ESPN.

Four talented, experienced starters will form the core of the Matador squad this season. Stephen Maxwell and Stephan Hicks dominated the league's scoring and rebounding stats in 2013-14. Maxwell is a 6-7, 220-pound senior forward who led CSUN in both scoring (17.5 points per game) and rebounding (8.8 rebounds per game) last year. Maxwell, a Big West Conference Player of the Year candidate, has collected 29 career double-doubles in his impressive three-year career. Hicks is a senior guard/forward who was among the league's top scorers (17.2 ppg) and rebounders (6.7 rpg) in 2013-14. Hicks has scored 1,448 points in his three-year career at CSUN and is on pace to become the school's all-time leading scorer.

Tre Hale-Edmerson, another frontline player, not only adds rebounding strength to the team but also a shot-blocking presence. In only two seasons at CSUN, Hale-Edmerson is the school record holder in career blocks. Last year, Hale-Edmerson tallied a school-record 62 blocks and collected a single-game school record with six swats.

The fourth returning starter is two-year veteran Landon Drew. The junior guard has dished out 228 assists in two seasons at CSUN.

Tavrion Dawson, Zacarry Douglas, Ajon Efferson, Jibreel Faulkner, Miles Nolen-Webb, Mike Warren, Taelin Webb and Jerron Wilbut are the freshmen that comprise Theus' second recruiting class. All eight players are athletic, talented and competitive. Meanwhile, Kevin Johnson, a 6-10, 240-pound center transfer from Seton Hall, is expected to earn quality minutes and compete for a starting role this season.
Sixteen players will comprise this year's CSUN basketball roster. Competition for playing time will be fierce and Matador fans will enjoy a team that will be exciting and competitive from the start of the 2014-15 campaign.

CSUN will be one of four teams that will compete in the 2014 Regional Games, which will take place on November 22 and 23 at the Jack Stephens Center. Along with its first round opponent Samford, CSUN will join UMKC and host UALR in Little Rock.
