Southwest Maui Invitational

Maui Mondays: Arizona State Head Coach Bobby Hurley

Next up on Maui Mondays, Arizona State Head Coach Bobby Hurley. Though he is making his Maui head coaching debut in Arizona State's sixth Southwest Maui Invitational appearance (1991, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2007), Hurley is no stranger to the Lahaina Civic Center as he captured co-MVP honors at the 1992 Tournament. He'll become just the third head coach to lead a team in Maui after winning the Tournament MVP during their playing career, joining Penny Hardaway (1992; 2024), who he shared MVP honors with, and Steve Wojciechowski (1997; 2017). In his first round matchup, he'll go up against Sean Miller and the Texas Longhorns. With Andy Katz, he discusses the Southwest Maui Invitational's rich history and his memories of the Tournament as a player and how the Tournament's unique atmosphere and setup has the potential to positively impact his team and catapult them to having a successful season.
