HONOLULU- The Chaminade Silverswords put up a good fight but were ultimately bested by a strong UCLA offense in the sixth game of the Allstate Maui Invitational.
 
UCLA had a fast start against the Silverswords, putting up 28 points in the first 11 minutes. The Silverswords later hit a 9-0 run, forcing nine UCLA turnovers in that stretch. Chaminade then went on a 17-8 run in the last 10 minutes of the period to end the half with 28 points on the board.
 
UCLA took back the momentum in the second period shooting 48.4% (30-62) from the floor and extending its lead by more than 30 points. UCLA's top scorer was Sebastian Mack, who recorded 16 points. Chaminade's Jamir Thomas was the team's top scorer with 17 points.
 
UCLA will play Gonzaga on Wednesday at 7 p.m. HT / midnight ET for its third game of the Allstate Maui Invitational. Chaminade is set to face Syracuse on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. HT/ 9:30 p.m. ET for its third game.
