Tommy Bahama Celebrates 8th Year of Partnership with Maui Jim Maui Invitational

Chicago, Ill. – As fans countdown for the 2022 Maui Jim Maui Invitational to make its return to the Lahaina Civic Center on island for the first time since 2019, longtime partner Tommy Bahama is once again preparing to help give the fans and teams alike an experience to remember this Nov. 21-23.

Over the past eight years of the brand's partnership with the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, Tommy Bahama has, in many ways, become synonymous with the Tournament. For one, the brand is responsible for creating the design for the free throw lane on-court, a custom designed floral print in vivid color that features the super-fragrant Lokelani rose, the official flower of Maui.

"We're happy to be part of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational again this year," said Doug Wood, CEO of Tommy Bahama. "Tommy Bahama has a long relationship with Maui Jim and both companies share a deep connection with the island of Maui. To be involved in the most iconic basketball tournament in Maui and bring the Tommy Bahama spirit to the court and the arena is a real honor for us."

Every game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational will be nationally televised on the ESPN family of networks, and fans watching from home will likely catch glimpses of coaching staffs and ESPN talent, including Jay Bilas, Dan Shulman, Daymeon Fishback and John Schriffen, donning Tommy Bahama Hawaiian camp shirts. In addition to the coaching staff and on-air talent, fans on-site at the Lahaina Civic Center will witness all staff members working the Tournament outfitted in Tommy Bahama signature print camp shirts.

"Tommy Bahama and the Maui Jim Maui Invitational share many of the same values and priorities, including providing exceptional hospitality, producing a high-quality product that celebrates heritage and spirit, honoring the journey as much as the destination, and preserving the beauty around us as we go," said Tom Valdiserri, executive vice president of KemperLesnik, operator of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. "This Tournament would not be possible without partners like Tommy Bahama, and we cannot wait for another year together back on island providing a memorable experience to our beloved fans and teams."

Monday's Tournament matchups will feature first-time Maui Jim Maui Invitational programs Texas Tech and Creighton, followed by Louisville taking on Arkansas in the top half of the bracket. In the bottom half of the bracket, Ohio State will face San Diego State, and Cincinnati will go head-to-head against Arizona. Five of this year's teams were also ranked in the 2022 AP preseason Top 25.

Tommy Bahama stores in Whaler's Village and Front Street Lahaina will feature the official Tommy Bahama Collegiate logoed apparel for the colleges participating in the tournament.
