North Carolina and Stanford faced off in a hard-fought game that ultimately saw the Tar Heels clinch a spot in the Camping World Maui Invitational Championship.
Freshman Caleb Love led the Tar Heels in points, scoring 16 on the night. Leaky Black came through with one of the most pivotal plays of the game, scoring on a drive to the basket and following up with a made free throw that cemented the North Carolina lead at 67-63.
Daejon Davis led the Cardinal in scoring, racking up 18 points; Ziaire Williams scored 10 points. Stanford went just 5 for 20 from beyond the arc.
This marks the Tar Heels' seventh appearance in a Maui Invitational Championship game; they have won the Tournament four times (1999, 2008, 2004, 2016).
North Carolina will play Texas in the Championship Game of the Tournament on Dec. 2 at 4 pm ET.
Stanford will play Indiana in Game 9 of the Tournament on Dec. 2 at 1:30 pm ET.
