Maui Invitational Alum earns No. 1 Draft Pick for Second Straight Year

Every year, the NBA Draft features top talent showcased in past Maui Invitational fields. Many revere the three days spent at the Lahaina Civic Center as a glimpse of what's to come at the NCAA March Madness. While March in 2019 looked a little different for college basketball fans, the 2019 Maui Jim Maui Invitational lived up to its reputation for bringing top talent to the island.

The 2020 No. 1 Draft Pick for the Minnesota Timberwolves went to Anthony Edwards, Maui Invitational alum who joined the 2019 field with the Georgia Bulldogs under Head Coach Tom Crean. Edwards earned a 18.3 PPG at the 2019 Tournament. Edwards marks the fifth time in Tournament history in which a Maui Invitational alum went first in the NBA Draft, and second consecutive No. 1 pick following Zion Williamson in 2019.
