The Virginia Tech Hokies served up the second loss of the season for the Michigan State Spartans in Game 2 of the 2019 Maui Jim Maui Invitational. The win marks the second time in 35 years that the Hokies have gone 6-0.
Cassius Winston had no points in the first half of the game, and, at one point, the team itself went just 1 for 9. The Hokies scored 12 points on 11 turnovers in the first half, and entered the break with a 32-28 lead.
Five Hokies scored in the double digits: Cattoor (10), Alleyne (10), Bede (11), Horne (12), and Nolley (22). Nolley's crucial 3-pointer in the final minute secured the 71-66 win.
