The University of Dayton took the early lead in the first game of the 2019 Maui Jim Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center. The Flyers led the Bulldogs 43-25 at the half, with 12 points from Obi Toppin within the first 5 minutes, and a last-second 3-pointer from junior guard Jalen Crutcher.
The University of Georgia shot 52 percent from the field in the second half, with Tye Fagan scoring 11 total points for the Bulldogs. Jalen Crutcher and Obi Toppin both ended the game responsible for 25 and 20 points, respectively, in Dayton's 80-61 win.
The University of Dayton will play the winner of Game 2 (Virginia Tech vs. Michigan State) in Game 7 of the Tournament on Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. HT/8 p.m. ET.
The Georgia Bulldogs will play in Game 5 of the Tournament on Nov. 26 at 9:30 a.m. HT/2:30 p.m. ET.
