The Brian Dutcher head coaching era continues into its second year, and expectations remain high for the Aztecs.

Last year the team reached the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in just nine seasons, and also took home the Mountain West conference championship.

The San Diego State lineup welcomes back three core starters in senior guard Devin Watson and sophomore forwards Jalen McDaniels and Matt Mitchell.  Watson, who is entering his second and final season with the Aztecs, was the team leader in points scored, games started, and minutes per game last season.

Senior Jeremy Hemsley, a two-time all-Mountain West honoree, will look to build momentum with a strong freshman class that includes four-star recruits Joel Mensah and Nathan Mensah (no relation), and 2016 Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year Aguek Arop.

Prior to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, the Aztecs will face off against Chaminade in an exhibition game on Nov. 1.

San Diego State will begin its run in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational on Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. PT (Noon HT) against Duke. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
