Commodores Excel in Game One

Vanderbilt jumped out to a 30-5 lead in the first 10 minutes and never looked back en route to a 92-55 win over St. John's in the opening game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. The Commodores (3-0) had four players who scored in double figures led by junior forward Luke Kornet with 13 points. Freshman guard Federico Mussini led the Red Storm (3-1) with 14 points, while senior Durand Johnson added 10.
 
Vanderbilt will move on in the championship bracket to take on the winner of Wake Forest and Indiana Tuesday at 2:30pm (HST). St. John's will play the loser of that game in Tuesday's first game at 9:00am.
